Hi All,
I bought this new sink tap with a shower ~£40 (one lever) on Amazon, relatively good reviews.
I installed it (ground floor) but what I have noticed straight away is that the flow is almost half of what the wash basin tap (cheap one upstairs) produces (I am talking about the flow of hot water, all the way to the left)

I think the old sink tap (two lever Brita Kelda Chrome Amazon.co.uk - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Brita-Chrome-Ambient-Filter-Kitchen/dp/B01MXFS8HT) had a better flow, that is why I am going to revert back to the old one to confirm my theory.

Moreover the mixing of hot and cold water is quite poor on the new one. The lever is half way on the hot side and I get mildly warm water, I move it slightly more towards hot and it changes to hot, so there is no proper mixing. I think whatever the tech is behind this fancy tap but the flow is restricted and compounds negatively on the mixing due to lower pressure of the hot water. I can see that the two connectors have a mesh but I don't think this is the culprit.

What should I look for when buying this kind of items? I understand the price can tell if it's a tap or a toy. What is the price range of a proper kitchen sink tap?

I’m guessing you have a cylinder?

Most taps are only suitable these days for high pressure systems eg mains water

You want one with a washer try and avoid 1/4 turn valves
