Hi everyone.

I'm totally new to plumbing and have managed to attach a new kitchen sink but don't know how to deal with the waste pipe. I don't want to mess around with what's already there, but just need a way of attaching my grey ikea trap to my black 40mm waste pipe, which is quite high.

Could someone please advise as to what connections I should buy? (Please don't tell me to scrap the IKEA trap as I've heard all that before).

Thanks a lot!

thats the problem with ikea you realy need the waste directly belowi would use a 1 1/2 to 2 inch reducer on to the waste pipe and a 2 inch elbow both in multifit

If IKEA continue to sell their," mickey mouse", pipe sizes, they should at least supply a conversion fitting so normal 40mm can be used.

Looks like it's already connected, what's the problem?

Looks like a Bodge but don't see why it won't work as longs it's all falling the right direction

Much better, well done. Small gripe would be that flexible waste connector but this is our job so we would moan. Haha
