Hi

Not sure if anyone can help but worth a go before I take it a little further. I moved into a brand new property a year ago and in this time the boiler flue has been leaking twice.

The first time it was corrected by an engineer though I'm unsure what he did exactly, this time I'm receiving no response from the housing association and I'm just wondering if I have reason to be concerned (other than the leak of course!)?

The boiler is a Valient Ecotec Pro 28 connected to a flue about 5m in length. The flue is boxed in and therefore I cannot really see if it's just leaking from the joint but I imagine this to be the case. The amount of liquid is around 30ml per hour if the boiler is in use and the period after use. I haven't used the heating much which I imagine will result in an increase.

Should I be concerned?

Cheers

turn of boiler immediatly and cotact your landlord products of combustion leaking makes your appliance immediatlt dangerous
flue should be fitted so that all joints are open to inspection

as steve and bernie says.

and more, mention to your landlord, that you will be contacting the hse with regard to gas problems and if you mention the word riddor, i am sure you will recieve a quicker response.

what happens with these are the connections are a butt type and when the flue is in horizontal position the rubber joints on the inner flue perish this is what i have found a number of times and only wit vailliant ?!
