Leaky overflow pipe at loft level but no water tank in my loft.

Hi all,

I live in an end of terrace house and there are two overflow pipes next to each other on my neighbours side of the fence. I assumed that the one closest to us was our overflow pipe. It has recently started dripping constantly and it is damaging our fence. Thinking it was my issue, I checked the loft to see if we had a water tank that could be leaking due to a blown bearing but we do not. How could this pipe be leaking at loft level if I don't have a water tank? Does this mean it is connected to my neighbours loft after all?

Would appreciate some help. Thanks!

Your neighbour probably has 2 tanks in their loft, one for central heating and one for hot water.

Am I right in presuming we're okay then? Will inform neighbour that they've got a leak and hopefully they sort it...

Yes certainly from how you've described the situation.

Are you sure you don‘t have a small header for your heating system?
They’re not very big (about a square foot) and could be tucked away.
