Hi,

Ive just finished my C&G 2 ... About to Start level 3 in July. I work full time for the NHS in the Maintenance Department. I am fully aware that what you learn in college is very far removed from the reality of the real world. So i am really looking now to start gaining some experience. Ive done small little jobs for friends and family ... Changed Radiators, fixed ball valves, fitting outside taps, updated waste pipes under sinks etc... very basic stuff. In college I've installed a cisten and hot water cylinder, installed a bathroom, cloakroom sink and toilet, downpipe and guttering, plenty of soldering and pipe bending. (Of course in a controlled environment).

I cant really commit to leaving the NHS quite yet as i don't feel confident enough to go it alone. I want to start at the bottom and work up to a level where I'm confident and of course capable. Thats the thing with college VS apprenticeships i guess college isn't so hands on.

Im a fast learner and been in construction since i left school. Im 39 and London Based. I have basic plumbing tools (Not your B&Q crap lol) and my own transport. I am free 2 weekends of every month, the other 2 i am at college.

If anyone has a small firm and has the time and patience to let me tag along and lend an hand id be very grateful. Im not worried about being paid.... Its experience I'm after.

Many thanks
Gary
