erm,
bit embaarasing really, on a trv drayton lifestyle trv, its liquid filled and is contained in the head of the valve (plastic) part is it not?.
so changing the head on a suspect trv that is reaching max temp even when off or frost protection will sort it and not needing to drain down to change the body, am i right?. spent to long chucking them on new systems to remember. lol.😱

not necessarily is the pin free to move up and down can be the valve is stuck open easy way is to swop it with another head from another rad that you know works

pin moved up and down freely, a ring of green verigre around pin and head wound up and down as it should. trv about 5 years old i was told. might do with a good tap on valve body?.
