do eney of you score,ruffup the thread before applying 55 ? dont like the sound of that! would it be safe if i dident 😕
 
fitted a towel rad last week, used ptfe, leaked. changed to loctite 55 no leaks no roughening up of thread beforehand.

needless to say now converted to loctite 55 just after buying 10 reels of ptfe b#@@%*😀
 
done a job yesterday i use 55 everywhere i can and never had a prob. been using it over a year since i saw a commercial contractor using it. good stuff
 
I have not tried it yet,have heard a lot of good reports,think I will get some next week and give it a go on the odd joint,always get a bit worried about stuff I use for the first time though 🙂

No, I don't rough the thread up and it's always worked first time. The instructions on the pack don't mention it, even though the website does (IIRC).
