Looking for work

Hello Everyone

I am a 39 year old jobbing plumber, who has 20 years experience in the trade. I have been out of work for almost 18 months now due to my last guvnor being shafted by the contractors. I am writing on here because I need work and after applying for countless jobs through job centers and agency's I am thinking this is my last hope. I am looking for work in the Billericay, Chelmsford, Essex area's and I am willing to work as a mate just to prove myself to anyone who will give me a start. I have my own tools and a clean license with transport although not a van because I could not afford to keep it running. I am service focused, work well in a team and on my own initiative. I am reliable and flexible in my approach to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to here about your situation Scott, 18 mth's thats some time to be out of work, your not alone loads of guys out here in same position, Very slow down here in West country , had 1 job last week , same this week so far. just change a rad , small money but better than nothing. Have you thought about doing anything else ?? Mate of mine is working in Morrisons on Fish counter, less money but he loves it !! Things keep up like this I may be joining him !! (Have a look at thead on here WHAT YOU DOING) same story everywere, Scotland seam to be doing well just now, but could catch up with them. Still best of luck looking for work

wouldn't say scotland are doing well, it's hard for everyone to get work usually the only chance of getting work is being self employed with own insurance, gas safe, van etc

Sorry GQ just that there seams to be more in your part of country still keeping busy, but maybe catching up now.
