Hi all, I have a question about my shower ... It doesn't get hot, at all. It never gets warmer than luke warm. What could the problem be? I have an immersion heater (I think. I'm not good with this kind of thing .. It's just electric, no gas). All the other water in my flat is fine. The taps are hot. Just not the shower.

What at do you think my chances are of an easy fix? I'm sick of only being able to have baths 🙁

thanks guys

much love, Carla

Hi guys. Thanks for your responses. I believe it's unvented and it must be electric because my apartment doesn't have gas. I've attached pics of my shower and boiler. Thanks 🙂 image.jpg

if you have hot at the taps then it might be the thermostat on the right knob of the shower that has failed.
you can buy those for £45 upward and after the water has been turned off, then its just the 2 nuts at the back of the valve to change.
you can strip and exchange the part in the old one but tend to be more expensive replacing the part.

All signs are pointing toward the thermostatic cartridge. Like Redsaw said, depending on what shower bar you have, it may be more cost effective to replace the entire bar. If on the other hand you'd prefer to only replace the cartridge send some photos of the extracted cartridge to Di Vapor here https://www.divapor.com/find-a-part.php and they will answer you within a few hours.

Then hopefully you'll be up and running within a week and you can stop taking baths!
