Afternoon chaps,

My first post on here; my Main Combi 24 HE boiler is suffering from flame failure.
It can at times work perfectly fine, but other times if not used for a 12 hours or so suffer from this fault.
The pressure is currently showing as 0.8 which is lower than it normally is, does anyone know how to turn this up?

Also what I have noticed is that everytime the winter months come alone, this boiler starts to play up. Is there something else I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance,

Ram

Hi Ram and :welcome: to the forum 🙂

Flame falure can be caused by many things on these boilers, most require some kind of compitence and familiarality with the boiler. Intermittents are a pain to get to the bottom of also IMO

Regards topping up your pressure there is most likely a silver flexi tube with one or two valves attached to the pipework near the boiler. Do you have something like this visible?

Thanks Diamondgas, I will check out the pressure valve as soon as I am back home. Hopefully, it does the trick.

It's called a filling loop in case you want to google it ... Your boiler may have one attached underneath where the pipes enter 🙂 Give us a shout later on and someone here'll help ya out 🙂

Morning guys,

I did turn the pressure up but did not help the burner.
The current situation as it stands is that if the rads or water are kept on, and the boiler trys to kick in - the red burner failure light appears, but after about 30 seconds the burner does kick in. However when the boiler cuts out for a while and trys to restart, it fails to do so.

Any ideas? Hopefully I will get around to calling the specialist soon!

In addition; the pressure currently reads 1 bar, when the tap is turned on, the pressure increases to about 1.2 bar. However, when the rads are turned on the pressure drops to 0.8 bar. Is this normal?

EVOeng ... you may have already called someone in by now ... That would be my advice anyhow...

Regards the pressure fluctuation, nothing abnormal there IMO
