JAH HEATING

Plumbers Arms member

Job I'm looking at tomorrow

Heating just been switched on for first time, an basically the temperature is flying up to 90 an switching off.

Getting some heat on flow, an the pump seems to be working OK.

A hose has been attached to a drain off down stairs to try to drag heat away from boiler, but apparently temperature is still high an not getting away from boiler?

All valves are open, possible blockage somewhere?

Cheers

The hot water working fine, just heating.

Could there be a fault on diverter, or the motor itself not moving the valve?

The heat is just going straight up to the heat exchanger.

div motor knacked or valve jammed or broke.
take motor off and press pin see what you get holding it down.

That's been tried aswell but same outcome.

The valves on these, they rest in hot water position don't they?

Does the pin push down, or does it come up for heating?

Something is telling me the latter?

Thanks for reply

Pushed pin down, still doing the same. The pin moved pretty freely when holding it down with Allen key.

Checked filter on return, that was fine.

So it can only be problem with valve? Blockage somewhere on boiler?

It's not the valve, got to be a blockage.

Not having it being a possible pcb? It's roasting inside the boiler

The divertor cartridge can collapse inside and appear to be operating with pin.

Check water quality for indications of possible blockage.
Make sure system fully purged of air.
Check pump operation.
If all above appear ok you more than likely looking at failed divertor cartridge.

All this been done, still the same.

Hi
The right hand heating valve has a filter in it. They can block.

You have a circulation problem.
Check pump.
Check for heat on the dhw pipe when heating fires.

What happens to pressure does that shoot up as well?
Possible blockage in pipe to exp vessel
