We installed a combi boiler on the 4th floor of an old block of flats a while ago and noticed the mains water pressure was extremely low. When we filled up heating we could only get it up to 0.7 bar. So you can imagine what the hot water is like once it goes through plate exchanger. Landlord now wants me to sort it so I suggested fitting on of the Stuart Turner Flomate booster pumps. I know there's seven different models some of which have vessels on them. Can anyone help me choose which one would be best. Max water pressure is 0.7 bar and flow rate is about 8 litres min

I would be looking into the pipework supplying the flat or the pipework supplying the complex.

Can you not test the pressure and flowrate at the water meter to the complex?

What's the pressure like when multiple flats are using water?

Hi

I've had the same issue with a Combination boiler and used a Home-Boost pump from Salamander Pumps, under the boiler which increased the flow upto 12 litres/ Minute. There's a video on their website showing how easy to install and also it running 🙂

I think initially that pump was activated on 3 litres /minute but spoke to there tech team and it operates now on as little as 1.5 litres per minute

Tech spec says 6litres Im sure that's an overestimation but its on paper so in the event its not activating from 4l/m they will tell you it's not their problem.

I know pumps kick in from toilet dripping overflow but you never know..

edit : Tech spec says 0.6 litres in fact..
