Mains Tank/Copper Tank

In the process of having new Bathrooms installed and I need to replace my current emersion tank. The chap that is doing it has recommended either a mains tank or a vented copper tank with a pump, in the quote, he will also do the following:

Drain down complete heating and domestic hot water system
Check all pipe work for pressure and security
Run new pipework through external wall for pressure relief and expansion outlet to ground level
Supply and install new mains cylinder tank / copper tank
Flush out complete system twice
Refill system and add treatment for heating system



EQUIPMENT
150 LITRE STAINLESS STEEL INDIRECT UNVENTED CYLINDER TANK / 160 LITRE COPPER TANK
EXTERNAL EXPANSION VESSEL
3 KW EMMERSION HEATER
NEW 7 DAY PROGRAMER
ALL CONNECTORS AND FITTINGS

I want to ensure I'm not being ripped off as I've googled the parts and can see what they cost quite easily but appreciate that's not all that is needed, could someone give me a ballpark figure on what I should be paying for the whole package?

Doesn't sound like you have any trust or faith in your tradesman. Why not get another couple of local guys to quote for you?

I think at 1800 I would shop around a bit more. That's my honest opinion. Why not put a request in the "looking for a plumber" section of the forum?

Ask your installer what competent person scheme he will be registering the install with.
