looks like my u-gauge is and i am after a decent one

reccomendations please

Well I have gone digital, mainly because of my eyes,as I got older, kept thinking the level had moved slightly 🙂,kept my old for back up ,never used, gives alot more accurate drop as well, plus if there is a problem, find alot easier to show customer, plus you do not have to worry about fluid levels

Never seen it written as Man-O-Meter. But have to agree with puddle you should look at a digital manometer, far better for doing burner pressures at the boiler and more manageable when crawling under some stairs cupboard to get to the meter. Perhaps look at the Anton range, but dont forget you will need to get it calibrated every year.

Yes Mark its the calibration bit that has stopped me from fancying one. But its the same for flue gas analyzers.

i bought my digital manometer from plumb centre a couple of years ago, about 80 quid. has its own self calibrating button. still going strong.

I use rothenburgs glass one, when it gets stained inside its easily cleanable, and its a damn toughie too. The case becomes a stand which is really useful sometimes. I have a CPA that does the tests too but only use if i feel i need to record evidence for some reason - i find digitals can show tiny drops that just give me doubts whereas (touch wood) water in a tube cannot lie.

buy a regin prem. simple and no calibration req !
if thats the solid plastic block one thats what i have, best investment every never needs filling even if it falls over as it doesnt spill doesnt get scaled or dirty
ive had several differnt tubular ones from cheap plastic to glass none as good as this one
looks profesional as well
