View the thread, titled "Minimum Distances from Ceiling" which is posted in UK Plumbers Forums on UK Plumbers Forums.

My Clerk of Works pal has a cotractor installing new Domestic Hot Water Storage Tanks in flats. Thety are positioned above the Hot Water Cylinder but are only about 150mm from the ceiling tut tut. I have mentioned that im sure its dictated as minimum 400mm from top of tank to allow for maintenance to be carried out to ballcock etc,. I have spent hours lookingat the water regs but cant find the regulation dictaing distances. can someopne ploease help or confirm 400mm minimum distance.

I Thank You.

Martin

I don't think there is a minimum specified distance, its as you say, you need enough room to change the float valve.

Sorry to hijack the thread guys.
Went to look at a Saniflo macerator pump the other week, the toilet was in a bathroom and the sani in a room below on a shelf fixed to the wall, it was so close to the ceiling it was all but touching it.
Some people just don`t think!
