My Mira surface shower unit will not turn off properly. This has been going on for some time. I was thinking to stop the mains and take out the valve to see the condition of the O-rings etc. I don't want to spend the £100+ on a new valve, when the bathroom is going to be re-fitted soon, but the leaking shower is driving us nuts. Would taking out the valve just to have a look a bad idea? I am concerned I may damage the rings and then make the leak worse.
Advice truly welcome here.

Taking out tge valve shouldnt cause any problems. If you phone Mira then they may give you a one off price to come and fix it.

that was quick! Isn't this something I could do myself? It cannot be so difficult to repair?
But I will call Mira as well.

Getting the valve out is pretty easy so you'd be fine, but if it is faulty then not sure how easy they are to fix.

The reason I mention Mira is that they're fee for fixing maybe less then the cost of a new valve!
