Hello all,

I've fitted new mixer taps to a new bath and basin, they are the waterfall type. However, the pressure is far too high, such that when turned on fully the water will reach the other end of the bath!

I am aware that fitting ball restrictor will reduce the flow but not the pressure and will likely create a lot of noise. Pressure reducing valves appear to be quite expensive and would add problems because I need pressure maintained for a mixer shower. Is there a simpler, cheaper solution to this problem?

It's mains cold with combi boiler, all 15mm.

Thank you very much for any advice.

stop being a stingey one and fit a prv on your mains to bring pressure down to 3bar and it will help save water! prvs only cost £30 or so after all

If that's the solution then I will! I'm a novice when it comes to plumbing and wasn't sure what to do here. Thanks.

Your normally doing everything you can to get water out of these things to fill a bath quickly....

Tell your customer not to think so much of a lovely delicate waterfall...instead a 16" storm drain outlet in a canal.

Get some flow restrictors on the feeds if you don't want ballofix hiss.

PRV mostly have compression fittings at both ends so EASY FIT.

Read the instructions some need to be horizantal etc. They usually come witha gauge
to fit with means you can set them up with a screwdriver to a 'happy pressure'

Stick one nearest in coming - Honeywell DO4 are the ones we use. Bear in mind they do have a lifespan and wera out Centralheatking . trhat
