just fitted a vaillant 831 for a customer at what i thought was a good price incl replacing all rad valves incl trvs and lockshields and a powerflush for 1850.00
all working perfect hot water heating
get a call at 0700 this morning basically demanding immediate visit due no hot water and boiler not working and that he is not best pleased
so i troop straight round and yes not working fault code f28(no gas) checked the hob no gas
went to gas meter customer has thrown ten ton of crap back in the cupboard and knocked the ecv to the off position
ime still waiting for my call to apologise for waking me at 0700
new to this game but gradually realising not to get too pally with the customer give quote get in get paid get out

The worst is when you tell then that because of thier actions they have done the damage.

I had a customer who had his shower getting cold and so decided to turn his HW Cylinder upto to 80. Pump failed and shower failed. Both need replacement.

I,d charge them for the callout, then next time they,ll be more carefull, had this myself some years back when somone slung the vacume cleaner on the gas meter, its the only way to teach some people.
