Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help please.. I have this kind of shower mixer tap:

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm wondering if it's possible to modify the fixings by taking off the shower rest, then reattaching the shower hose directly to the top of the mixer so that it looks more like this:

If so, (I'm fairly handy if I've got some instructions), is it possible to do it myself and where is it best to get the right equipment etc, or would it be better to get a plumber in??
I thought if this is possible then it would save the expense of a whole new mixer tap..
Thanking you in advance.

i agree the only way is to take it apart. it all unscrews, but i think that the part that you want to do away with screws into the tap body. so you will need something like a double ended bush to convert it.
