Mono Mixer Tap - cold water supply only

A relative wants a small basin mounted on the wall in a grd. level toilet. There is only a cold water supply to this room and they are happy to just have cold water run to the basin. Can a mono mixer tap be used without having to blank off the threaded hot inlet?

it can but every time someone turns the tap to mix (hot/cold) cold water will pour out the hot! your better off fitting a single pillar tap.

Thanks Ch4, I did wonder if this was the case but I couldn't find anything out about the internals on-line. Will a single pillar tap cover the larger hole?

yes it should do but you would really need to check the hole size.

Just get a wash hand basin with a single tap hole - they are cheap enough and designed for a single pillar tap.

or connect cold supply to both feeds 🙂
