Young Gunner

Hi guys,

Got my own van and basic tools but looking for experience wherever I can find it because work is not steady and I don't like sitting around doing nothing. Had someone teaching who will be out of work for a few months because of an operation, but he was great. I don't mind getting my hands dirty and I'm not the type to fuss or complain. Just expect you to be enthusiastic about showing me the ropes. Will be free from February onwards. Please PM for further discussions.

Thanks in advance.

No mention of tea making experience 😉

to better your chances.

how long have you been getting experience?
what qualifications do you hold?

i see you're.... 23? so do you just want experience or to do a nvq apprenticeship.

what are you confident with doing already?

Oops! Limited tea making experience, but willing to learn .

6129 C&G qualified on my way towards getting the NVQ2 and looking to go gas safe in the future.

Tbh I've had limited experience as I've had to have a job to continue to make ends meet and I wasn't ever ready to make the jump as a full time plumber. Since December though I bought the van and been looking around like a hawk. I've fitted a couple of bathrooms and pipework for a couple of kitchens and small bits and bobs (taps etc) but not much more than that. I'm currently working for a cowboy just so I can make ends meet but in reality I want another great, experienced and disciplined plumber to teach me (I've only been an apprentice previously for a guy for 1 week)

I'd say I'm confident in everything I've learnt and done (6129 course i.e. rads, bathroom etc.) but I haven't had much real life working situations where it's a lot more complex than an empty room with no tiles, carpet etc. I've picked up a lot of good habits but I know every plumber works differently so I don't like to say I'm too good at anything and would prefer for you to make that judgement.

Hey gunner where are you based? I'm looking for someone in your position

Im a season ticket holder for the emirates in Heathrow so not necessarily

Its good you're honest 🙂

now... Who's the cowboy forum member who's been teaching you...

Young gunner 🙂

looks like he's dedicated to put up with someone who bodges things while looking for a proper tutor

I'm based in either Southgate or Brixton, but I honestly don't mind traveling as long as I'm getting work.

Ironically gunner has nothing to do with football...

This cowboy isn't from the forum. He's somebody I know who took a fast track Gas safe course, has enough money to buy his own 0.5mill property and has completely re-built it. I just want to keep busy and keep earning so I decided to work with him. Tbh I've learnt a lot, mostly of what not to do. As long as I keep to a good standard of practice idc about his methods.
