Need of advice

View the thread, titled "Need of advice" which is posted in UK Plumbers Forums on UK Plumbers Forums.

Hey guys,

I've been coming to this forum for quite a while now interested in what's going on in the plumbing industry and I have to say there is always something enjoyable to read and learn from.

The reason I send this is basically to say Hello to you all and also a question of help on your plumbing expertise.

Q: I currently have my Technical Certificate level 2 in plumbing 6129 and studying towards Level 3 6035 and was wondering what opportunities you might know of that I could try pursue because in my area of Peterborough apprenticeships are rare atm and i know to be "fully qualified" I need on site training NVQ in level 2 & 3 but was wondering if you had any advice because my lecturer says about self employment but that would be risky and maybe even stupid. UNLESS anyone reading this from near Peterborough / Cambridgeshire area requires assistant in anyway. (does not include tea making sorry)

Thanks 🙂

Welcome to the forum & Best of luck Paul, lots of people out there trying the same thing.
I have got to say I think it is very unfair of your college (& City & Guilds) to let you believe that you can achieve the skills & knowledge to be a Level 3 Plumber, when you have never worked as one so can't posable apply one to the other.
