Installed a new boiler last week, which after 5minutes of being switched on blew up in my face. (I certainly would not wish this to happen to others) It wrecked my good looks lol smashed my nose, 2 black eyes and bruised arms and sent me flying across the kitchen. At this stage I'm not prepared to name either boiler model or manufacturer but they have admitted liability, have replaced the boiler free of charge. Now we know what happened, in a nutshell a volume of gas built up in the boiler before the ignition process to place, causing an explosive ignition..... My question is, has this happened to anyone else? At this stage I'm not interested in any particular manufacturer or boiler model, I'm just curious as to whether the above scenario has happened to anyone else.... thanks

It happened to me on an old boiler once when i tried to restart it too many times
New pants were needed that day

Yes to a manufacturers own engineer. It never officially went public though.

Think this should be in the private area for gas talk really

bit pointless not telling us make n model, being as its a discussion forum
