Hi all, just thought i would say my piece being a new boy on here.
I am two mths away from completing the 6129/6089
but i have just landed a job installing bathrooms/repairs and general cold water installations. Working for a local hosing assoc. so i can offer hope to all the newbies undertaking 6129.
I have been mostly diy for years but my experience has widened as my confidence grows.
I have been finding strange attitudes to being a newbie, local plumbers tend to be very unhelpful when they find out what i do so i have been mostly trial and error so i keep in touch with my tutor for advise.
Because im only level 2 they tend to dismiss me as just a diyer.
This makes me stronger as i have seen some of their handywork and pricing!!
The 6129 has gave me a chance to prove myself and my confidence is getting stronger. I know i there is still much to learn but my drive keeps me goin and those negative attitudes.
Good luck🙂

Hi Wiggy
Welcome to the forum, pleased you have found a permeant job to go to from your training
You will find some negative response at merchants and the like but treat it like water off a ducks......
I must admit ,since joining this forum ,I have learnt a lot about todays training and the dedication and effort new trainee's put in,with little support from the people in the trade, think the recession makes it worse, hopefully you will find a little more support and respect here and if we can help, post away 😛

I started working for my self when doing my level 2s and carried on at college til I got my gas quals, and all you can do is keep b*ggering on and learning as you go. Cos I was a late starter had no problems with merchants and customers thinking I was a bit young but as long as you dont over extend yourself early on youll be ok.
Its funny but I can understand a liverpool accent on line but its all gibbberish when I was last in the great city!!

take no notice wiggy,i hope you qualify plumbing is learning all the time none of us experianced guys can say we know it all,and welcome to the forum😀
