Hi
I have a small field with a static caravan on it. The water company are coming out in a few weeks to connect up a supply. So far I have a 90cm trench from just outside the boundary to 12 feet inside. I plan to run 25mm mdpe pipe along this to a standpipe. I'm not ready to run all the way to the static yet as it's final location hasn't been decided on. To satisfy regulations, I've been told I need a non return tap. My question is, can I connect a plastic stopcock before the tap so that I can isolate the supply at this point rather than having to isolate at the road? Then when connecting to the static, it's just a matter of taking a T from between the stopcock and the tap?
Also, do all taps have a non return valve as any that I look at online don't actually state that they have one?
Many Thanks in advance.

Yes you can install a stop tap before the outlet in the ground just be mindful that its

Also a stop tap chamber

Great, Thanks for the reply. That has clarified a lot. Regarding the stop tap, rather than installing this underground, I was intending to install it on the standpipe above ground (about 2 feet below the actual tap), so as not to have any joints underground. Would this be acceptable?

that’s fine would need to dig it in once you decide to install it to the static as it’s not really rated for sunlight/ above ground / a joint below ground etc
