Just seen this job advert for plumbers down truro

check the hourly rate !!!

My client is looking for an experienced plumber to work in the Truro/St Austell area.

This is a full time role with ongoing work paying between £7.46 and £10.21 an hour depending on experience.

A van will be provided for work purposes, getting to and from site.

Candidates will ideally live in mid Cornwall (Truro area) and must be able to be on site for 8am each day.

Duties will include working on public conveniences, other client offices and buildings and servicing existing contracts in plumbing/maintenance requirements.

Successful candidates will have an NVQ Level 2 or be a City and Guild qualified plumber and possess your own tools.

A valid CSCS card and full, clean driving licence are also ideal.

To apply please send an up to date CV to [email protected]

Any queries please call Emma or Charlotte on 0117 917 45 60

shocking.....i'd be surprised if they get any applicants...i wonder how big of a slice of cake the agency will be shoving down their gobs..

That's the reason I went self employed when I moved down here.

There are a couple of companies that pay well but I've heard they expect stupid amounts of work.

I think I've seen this advert for the past 12 months coming and going so I guess someone is doing it then getting peed off with earning peanuts.

Just for comparative instance,

What's the going rate for working in a supermarket in the UK?

I don't know what the supermarket rate is, but the adult national minimum wage is £6.50

We signed up to the "living wage" so nobody working for us earns less than £7.85 (£9.15 in London).

A friend of my girlfriends dad works in sainsburys truro on £7.81. Most of the wages down here are poor.

If being a plumber meant my target wage was £7.46 an hour, I would be stacking shelves. Not that there is anything wrong with that at all.

Aldi pay £9 per hour.

Looking at that job though they want the bare basics by way of qualifications so I'd say it's aimed at those trying to gain experience following a six week plumbing course.

There was a job advertised locally for checkout staff at £9.

having said that I never actually laid eyes on the advert. It was during a very similar discussion with an electrician at work that he mentioned his wife had gone for it as it was more then she was getting as a care assistant

Probably check out staff get more than shelf stackers?

Problem is if your desperate and need a mortgage paying then you will go for out. Problem is job will have a high turnover rate which I can't see being cost effective from my own experience having paid out so much I wouldn't to re hire Over and over. what would an agency care about that prob not a lot
