No DHW but CH is hot??

I have had a britony 80 combi for years and it has always done
the business. Problem ?? When i turn on hot taps, no HW.
I check the CH flow and return and both pipes hot...
Also after about 15 secs after turning on hot tap, the boiler starts to whine.
I assume some type of valve or "diverter" is not working properly, and the hot water is going out the CH pipes and not the DHW pipe, when the hot tap is turned on..
what parts if any do I have to sort out.
I always thought that the hot tap always took priority in a combi.
Help would be appreciated.

it does sound like the diverter has gone

The hot water does take priority if the diverter valve is working

You can get a repair kit for a fraction of the cost of a new diverter valve

You will not get a repair kit for a Bitony 80 diverter valve,you will have to buy the complete valve,they are not that expensive and fit on by twisting onto block on l/h side,if you have not done before can be a bit tricky

you are correct couldnt find a repair kit, so I had a brainwave.
I took off 3 way valve assy and "cleaned" it out etc.
Put it back on,and liike magic it works.
No more noises, and only DWH warms up,,,now that is a result.
Valve must have been sticky or other, but i AINT COMPLAINING.

I am a plumber of years ago, so I know my way around, but I am not heating/gas specialist. This combi has been in one of rented out houses I service,and always been good, even though its only a D band,

And on another point, i am looking for a manual for a HEATLINE C24 condenser combi, but cant get one. I am of the belief that heatline has been bought out by VIZO, and their are no C24 manuals on the site. ( only for sargon, solaris,etc )
Does anybody know of any other HEATLINE sites where you can get heatline manuals.

Pleased it worked out for you,as you say the britony is a good boiler,at the time took a big risk naming combi after their reliable water heater to regain their street cred,but it worked sales rose and then they committed harry carry with their next models,good bye British market after being a leader in it
