Hi everyone, I'll try to be as descriptive as possible.

I live in an old terraced house with the boiler and water tank in the basement and all pipes running up through the two floors of the house.

Currently when I turn on the hot water at the wall panel I'm getting no hot water through the taps at all.

The radiators are heating up fine when I turn them on at the same wall panel.

There was some rattling in the pipes in the wall when I ran the hot water.

The water tank doesn't appear to be filling up from what I can tell.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you get any hot water out of any taps?
Your hot water cylinder must be fed from a cold water storage tank in the loft, it sounds like you have an air lock somewhere buddy.
Can you post up a picture of the boiler/cylinder?

here are some images of the set up in the basement...

As far as I have been able o work out it does seem to be an air block.

What is going to be the best way for me to get it cleared. am I going to have to purge the whole system?

thanks.

Just to clarify, I am getting water through the taps it is just cold all the time

so you open hot tap and water is coming out? if yes then problem is somewhere else. you will probably need heating engineer to come and have a look. btw that boiler flue looks dodgy
