Hello

I have replaced my old shower pump. After connecting it up, I turned the water back on. Cold water works fine. No hot water comes out of any of the taps.

I assumed there was an airlock and tried to get rid of it using the length of hose trick and trying to blast it clear with the cold water tap, but so far this has not worked.

Any ideas on how I could solve this problem?

I am not sure if there is any hot water left. I have a header tank in the loft which is full. How would I check that?

I have not yet switched the pump on because the instruction booklet advised that both hot and cold water should run through the pump before electrically switching it on. The fact that the pump is not on should not affect the hot water though should it?

Thanks for the reply

You could have a broken gate valve on the cold supply to cylinder. Sometimes stopcocks are fitted & washer can jam down. I would check water coming through first valve & if it is work towards cylinder. The gate valves type are always breaking.

That could still mean broken valve. Regular occurrence. I would check that first. If Air lock it should clear if you run the cold fully through the hot for several seconds.
