Hi

been to look at a job today where the customer canot get any hot water.

gravity system and central heating working fine

the flow to the coil does not get hot and there is a drain at the bottom of the return after the cylinder which when open dribbles slightly. you can see my hose just on the picture

the system is a bit odd in that there are two lever valves which control whether the hot water or heating or both/either are on.

i have attached a couple of photos to try and explain.

i am leaningn towards a blockage in the pipe to and from or in the coil - its only a 600mm x 350mm cylinder with 15mm pipes.

what do you guys think

Tie a bit acorn on to it to outside and fire the mains through it. Might be more than the coil though. A powerflush with some FX2 clears most stuff.
