Hi, our boiler has always made a vibrating noise when first switched on (this has got louder recently). We now also have a problem of a really loud running water sound coming from it which has never been there before. Both the hot water and central heating still get hot and I have bled all of the radiators and the little valve in the airing cupboard, but this sound is still there, it sounds like there is a tap constantly running. Has anyone got any ideas what this could be?
It is a boiler which heats the water and sends it to a tank (Ferroli Optimax 25OV)

Thanks Andy

update to initial thread - there is now water dripping from the bottom of the boiler (cold) and when outside the water noise is even louder from where the vent outlet is and the outlet is covered in condensation.

Sounds like your heat exchanger may have had it, you need to get a Gas safe engineer in to take a look for you. If you are lucky, may just be a leaking connection, but from what you have said about the noises, sounds more serious. May have to think about a new boiler if it is the heat exchanger I'm afraid.
