Last week had a call customer needed a new donut washer fitted to the wc, whilst there also required inlet valve fitted a nice fluidmaster 😀 also fitted a new push button drop valve. Job done customer rang to thank me but informed the wc was noisey. So I thought the inner tube/over flow was hitting the lid, but it isnt. The noise is actually when it closes, and you get a great thump.

Has anyone else had this problem, you can hardly hear it when the lid is off, and dont know how to resolve it 😕

allways thougth these valves closed with a thud, well the ones i have worked on anyhow.
its not slapping the cistern is it?.
try turning the ball vave down a bit?.

Nearly every one i've fitted, cleaned or repaired has closed with a thud.

The most recent one (Dudly Pinto) seemed to be quieter than most.
