Hi
Did a immersion change on a combination cylinder the other day, left the job with everything working.
The customer is complaining that she has to have the immersion on for longer than before and now it does not give her enough to have a bath?

I replaced the original with an 11" heater (it's all I had on the van) but the old one was 14". I know I should have gone back the next day with the 14" version but rather naively I thought 3" wouldn't make much of a difference?

Hmm, I've changed ones for marginally shorter ones before and never had a problem.
Ramp the stat up to 80C and you'll be fine... (Joke)
Only thing you can really do is go and check it out with a 14"(oo-er) and replace if need be, can save some face by saying the replacement must have had a fault?
🙂

Thanks, turns out that it's fine. She just needed to leave it on for longer, she thought an hour would be enough to heat it up fully 🙂
