Just been told that the NVQ 2 is not recognised here in Scotland, only NVQ 3. Just shelled out for the 6029 and 6089 level 2 with OLCI and wondering if it'll be any use? Any plumbers in Scotland able to fill me in on what goes on with the NVQs up here. I'm 44 so this is my only realistic way in to the trade. Cheers.

who told you that?.😕

the jocks call it 'snvq' (scotish national vocational qualification) and they do level 2 anyhow.

aye. they still use wells up there so the plumbing is no more advanced than dwn ere/.?.😛

I am an NVQ/SVQ assessor in Forklift Operations & also Warehousing & Distribution. I did my training in Scotland (SVQ) and I have carried out training in England (NVQ) so there is no difference between them. With regards to your question NVQ's are valid in Scotland regardless of the subject. If you need this clarified then get in touch with EMTA Awards Ltd (EAL) who are the awarding body for NVQ/SVQ. Their website is EAL Home Page

Hope this helps.
