Morning,

Went to a house yesterday with one cold radiator - it's on a microbore system 😡

All other rads are fine, so did the usual checks, tried shutting all other rads down, checked pin on trv, checked pressure (sealed system). Then took radiator off and thoroughly flushed it out with hose, regularly tapping with mallet. Plenty of sludge came out of it and thought I'd sussed it. Put it back on and still no heat to it.

Could it be a blockage in the microbore? Is there anything else worth trying before suggesting a re-pipe?

Hi,
With Rad off, open both valves & see if you get some flow, if 1 is very slow, try letting it dribble into a bucket for 10 mins. More than likely you'll have to trace it back to the manifold. If lucky you might just have to clear the manifold, if not repipe!

If it's totally blocked, powerflushing won't work. If with heating on & there's some heat at that rad, yes you've got a chance.

If it was me I'd take it off, take it out to the garden hose pipe and give it a good seeing to.

ooh I think we would all like a video of a senior member giving a radiator a good seeing to in the garden with a hose !

I would give the whole system a dose of mains pressure with an open ended drain off
