Hi trainee plumbing here trying to understand why one upstairs rad wont work.
All other radiators around house are working fine expect for the second bedroom (2/3)
The flow pipe going to the TRV is piping hot and the TRV its self is hot but the radiator is not.
The lock shield is open and i have bleed the rad and no air comes out just cold water.
Its plastic microbore pipe and on a newish house 5 year old.
any ideas what the problem could be?
Cheers

Take the trv head off and give the pin a whack

Ye i forgot to mention i tried that and messed with the lock shield. Since then the rad has got some heat into it but its not warming up as much as the others.

Longshot, but prove the lock shield is open ,I.e not nact and closed in the open position, a bit similar to what happens to old gate valves. I you get them every now and then

It could be a blockage in the pipe or if it's a plastic pipe dropping out of a hole turn both valves off take the rad out and check the pipe is not kinked where you can't see

You need to hit the TRV pin repeatedly until it will spring back on its own. Sometimes it takes quite a while. I've hit for a very long time then you must accept that a new one is needed.

Pipe is kinked coming out of the wall. Need to get a proper plumber in now to drain the system haha
