When removing a old gravity system, is there a way of replacing with a conventional boiler with out compromising the open vent....

Many old gravity systems have the two heating pipes and two primary pipes at the boiler, then the feed and o/v coming off the top of the primarys at the cylinder in the airing cupboard.

If you do a boiler change and place the controls next to the boiler, the vent will then be after the controls.

The only way around it i see is to pressurise the system thus removing the need for the open vent.

Just for the record, the reason the controls can't go in the airing cupboard where the vent and feed are is because its impossible to get a cable to the airing cupboard and there are no heating pipes near the airing cupboard either (just primarys)

So my question really is can the controls go next to the boiler, with the pump and feed left as they are coming off the top of the primaries , or maybe switching the open vent to the return?

How do you over come this problem with out having to pressurise the system (and for the record again its a extremely old system so pressurising is the last thing i wish to do!)

Thanks in advance,
