What Should I Do Now ?

Hi, My Names Tre, I am 18, I have been studying various plumbing courses over the past few years and gained some city & guilds certificates, such as;
  • City & Guilds Diploma Level 2 – Plumbing
  • City & Guilds Certificate Level 2 – Domestic Natural gas Installation and Maintenance
At the moment i am studying Level 3 NVQ Advanced Diploma in Domestic Plumbing & Heating, i am just seeking information on what i need to go out in the industry and work as a plumber.

Can i do anything with my current qualifications or would i be best off sticking to my course to finish it, im not too bothered about being a gas engineer at this moment in time i just want to get going with water work such as bathrooms and cold and hot water systems ect.

please tell me anything you think would help me out im just lost at this moment in time.

thanks for spending your time to read my post :wink:

Cheers Tre.

its always good to get gas safe if you can, you can quote for more jobs and will beifit you in the long run, stick at it if you can

If you want to make wonga you have picked the wrong trade.

That said If your able and confident but more importantley have some work get yourself some insurance and gain some experience failing that apply for a job as an apprentice with a company as you have got youth on your side

I have been in search for plumbing apprenticeships since i left school, i just haven't had any look what so ever, i dont know if its because of the credit crunch and loss of jobs ect.
Am i able to do anything with my current qualifications ?
i was thinking maybe get some on site experience and look into getting a van i just dont really dont know how to go about it.

If your able and confident but more importantly have or can get some work get yourself some insurance and go to work.
If you need a van and tools etc. its not easy unless you have a big pot of money

Thanks your a great help, i currently work at leeds uni so it would take a few months to get a van and tools.
do you recon i should consider doing like 2 days a week voluntary to boost confidence and if i was to finish my Level 3 NVQ
Advanced Diploma in Domestic Plumbing & Heating would i be employable ?
