Does anyone use this silicone? Opinions please. Does it last as long as Dow Corning? I know Dow Corning isn't usable on wet surfaces like plumbers gold.

Patience is a virtue 🙂 ....

I thought plumbers gold was copper couloured and use to hold water 🙂

i think the two other lads where using it on bathroom fits cant have got on with it that well as they have been using everwhite microban for ages

Might give it a bash and see. Although it's not that often I need to seal anything wet

I use this when the budget allows as its realy good sticks to all items and yes works underwater wish it was cheaper as would use all the time.

It's good stuff for a temporary repair, especially in leaking sanitary ware and good for temporary repairs in cast iron gutters when its raining.

Turns yellow over time. Even quicker if there is natural light in the room. In other words ultra violet light.

Its exactly the same as a product called 'The Worx'.

I always have a tube on board in clear. It doesn't get used often, but can be good for a bodge repair until you can get back and do it properley at a later date.

If you want to apply silicon mastic to bathrooms, in showers and on splash backs etc....my advice is to clean and prep correctly and use Dow Corning silicon.

Dow has microban, doesn't discolour and is very nice to work with. Plumbers gold is extremely thick. It isn't silicon. It doesn't smell at all like silicon, (that distinctive ammonia smell).

It is great stuff, but use it for the correct task.
