Plumbing Apprenticeships/Courses

Hi, im looking at starting a new career in plumbing. I want to start an apprenticeship but im 31 years old (ive spent 13
years in the Army so very hard working).

Can anyone give me hints/tips on whether i should find an apprenticeship or do one of these 8 week courses.

Mate of mine came out the army and into alarm fitting. MOD payed for his courses and he earns more then me - easier to install then bathroom suites too!
