Hi all

I been working for a plumbing company for the past 3 years in South Africa, and I'm moving to the UK in 2 years time, I would just like to get some advice, on what I would need to go straight to work once I'm there, and what I need to do?

I suppose a lot of it depends on what your qualifications are / area of speciality and if they are compatible with the UK regs for your work.
you may need a work permit if your not a UK national

Thanks for the responses guys! I'm not qualified yet, but going to do my test this year June! In SA we don't specialize in certain areas, we do everything! I do everything from chasing walls- final fix! Normal maintenance, only thing is Gas isn't a big thing here so not so clued up on that! I am a UK citizen so no problems there!

We dont specialize in certain areas neither :S maintenance, servicing, installs. Renewables, gas (natural/lpg), oil, safety checks, bathrooms, wetrooms etc etc there are many fields that you can be given day to day...
