Morning all.

Had a call out yesterday, to the above. Boilers been working fine until yesterday morning, when the custard had no hot water.

When heat is call for (heating or hot water) the fan runs, pump runs, boiler lights but only a pilot light sized flame & it keeps on sparking.

I had it running like that for a good 5-10min, with no change. Didn't have the manual & it was 10pm, so didn't think Potterton was open lol

I was thinking gas valve or PCB

What do you boy's think?

Oh & happy Friday.... :rockon2:

I cleaned the injector + check wiring, all seem fine. But couldn't check current as my multimeter is broke.

As it's for a insurance company I can't just phone the custard or just pop round. Am I right in saying they don't make the gas valves for these boilers any more? It's NOT a honywell gas valve.

The boards are really prone to failure on the netaheat! So if its the original then possibly that?

The fault finding diagram on this boiler is really good! It tells you how to check if the pilot is lit, but continues to spark!

Were you really attending a boiler breakdown @ 10 pm this time of year??

I used to work those silly hours on standby with Bgas but they were for gas emergencies, not a broken boiler.

Maybe in the middle of winter but September?

Must be a good earner.

The boards that were discontinued a few years back were the "white rogers" ( will be corrected but sure that is near enough !!!)

Insurance Co ! do a BG tell them boilers to old and parts not available , then price them for a replacement boiler

Yes ! but they are never short of work ; cos if BG say's it then it must be true, over 10 years no parts !
