Client has a property and required an unvented upgrade to increase pressure. New cylinder + set up put in and new programmer. Everything was fine however a few weeks later reported the boiler coming on by itself and stayed on throughout the night sometimes.
When doing this he informed me that the programmer is not demanding for heat as the lights were not illuminated. However downstairs the boiler was in full flow and the only way to switch it off was through the fused spur switch.
After coming out on to diagnose, everything seemed well and the symptoms seem to be very intermittent. I checked the programmer and the cylinder stat and both seem to be fine and programmed correctly.
So I thought it would be easy and it was most likely the 3 port valve or ms was sticking. Changed it over for a brand new one and left.
Called back again today with the same issue. Im leaning towards PCB issue within boiler or potentially faulty programmer.
Any thoughts guys? anyone had a similar problem on these boilers?
