Powermax programmer/alternative

Hi Folks

I have a Powermax 140 with an integral Hortsmann programmer. The Hot water comes on with the separate rocker switch but when the rocker switch is switched to timed which should give both hot water and C/H, then nothing happens.

The red neon lights which illuminate when both H/W and C/H are have gottten dimmer.

My question is is there a cheaper alternative to using this programmer which came with the appliance.
