Hi All,

Glad to see I'm not the only one considering to re-train as a plumber. I've been seriously looking at the New Career Skills course but looks like it doesn't actually give you a useful qualification that can be used towards the NVQ. As far as i can gather it, to get an NVQ Level 2 (which is what we should be aiming for!) you need the 6129 component followed by the 6089 component! NCS gives you 6128 which is (as far as i can tell isuseless!... please correct if wrong!!)

I have been thrown by this... but the PPL Training centre in York seems to provide a decent course and i was wondering if anyone has been on it and could give some feedback??

Also, how is everyone getting on with employment following these courses? I'm currently in South Wales and looking to work for someone for a while to become experienced as i would prefer to become a quality plumber than a cowboy!!!

Any comments would be appreciated!

Cheers

james knows what hes doing with these courses, there is also help after if you get stuck. as for work after these courses you have slim to no chance of geting a job with out the experiance unless you know any one in the trade that will help

good luck
