ptfe tape for lpg

doing my first lpg job tomoz and im not sure whats the best tape to use , iv been told that standard ptfe is not good because it goes brittle in time, just interested to hear what people are using

I don't think 577 is approved for gas

It's approved to DVGW, DIN-EN 751-1 according to the website.

If you look at the applications it's suitable for almost any except oxygen

thanks for your reply's guys i was thinking the yellow gas tape would be ok, just wanted to hear what people were using. obviously with the sealants you just have to read the labels.

I'm sorry but you're very wrong here. The PTFE in the white case is made to BS 7786 suitable for water. The PTFE in the yellow case is made to BS 6974 and suitable for natural gas and LPG.

I would say your both wrong

Thick ptfe for gasses family 1 2 and 3
Thin ptfe for water
