Pump shower ?

I read some threads on this forum, I don't understand why showers needs pumps ?

Yes, but why the pressure is not enough without a pump ?

imagine a head of water at 1 metre giving 0.1 bar through 15mm copper pipework, round bends and fittings and then through a restritive outlet (shower) to the user. its more of a dribble. Anyway, fitting pumps earns me beer money
