puzzled by notifications

Only got my gas certs in last few months and still learning all the time.Could sum1 please tell me do i need to notify gas safe at every new installation cooker fire boiler etc.I was told you didnt need to notify on cookers.As im new i would like to start of on the right foot and not fall out with inspectors would appreciate any help thanks
