I am intrigued:

this request for information directly relates to

"damsel in distress"

Particulary Homeserve and British Gas contracts on repair:

How are the operatives paid, so far, this lady has had contractor after contractor and following this post the lady has been given excellent advice from this forum. Everyone who has attended has refused to acknowledge the problem for her. This has resulted in 5 visits bad feeling and the problem still persists.

So, does anyone know how these people are being paid. Is it £XX per call no matter how long they are there?

The chances of getting the same engineer (term used loosley in this case) are very slim so no one is interested. So, maybe thats it. In other words complete lethargy in dealing with the issue.

Or, is there a limit on how much they can spend on a call out?

I would imagine thats what they use their flushing scam for, to raise extra revenue to cover the number of incompetant engineers they have
