quick question about radiators

i have recently moved into a new house and it is freezing. So to help aid myself i removed the temperature attachment to a few radiators to try and get the most heat out of them

just wondering is this going to cause excessive energy waste because of the water simply flowing through the radiators then out to the sewers or does the water just get recycled through the system i shouldent see a huge increase in my energy bill

water in your system never changes it just recirculates.

if your talking about the trv's you've removed you won't get more heat they will just stay hot and can make the room uncomfortable.

Reckon we'll all be out of work soon with such knowledgable householders out there !

Seriously though, sometimes is beggers belief how little some people know about DIY, I honestly once had a customer who couldn't change a light bulb, they had figured out the small screw in type, just unscrewed it, but a bayonet completely stumped them.

On a more slightly helpful note, is your room thermostat too low? If you've just moved in the previous people might have turned it down just in case you weren't going to be there for a while.

Get a plumber round to check out the system, he can advise you on the state of the system as it may be set up wrong, undersized radiators, gunged up etc.
He/She can also advise you on how to use it and what it does.
